I have been an avid cyclist ever since I began riding about 12 years ago, since then I have had a dream to be an influential figure on the world of cycling. I started riding/racing road and mountain at Virginia Tech when I was 18. I raced on the team for 4 years as my attitude for racing slowly diminished and I developed an excitement to help run the team and host races. While at Tech I helped host 3 road race weekends (road race, crit, time trial), and I also helped host 2 mountain bike races. As I graduated from college and began a career in teaching, I began to ride with some guys a bit older than I who were incredibly strong riders whom introduced me to the mentality of “Riding to Ride.” I got into bike touring at that time and have been following this riding mentality since. My first summer as a teacher I rode my bike from Maine to Blacksburg Virginia. Every summer/winter break/spring break I have spent “riding to ride” since then. I have traveled Italy, The pacific coast hi ghway, Colorado, the Blue Ridge parkway, C&O Canal, West Virginia, as well as others. I would say that I have put over 10,000 miles on a touring bike. I have a serious passion for cycling.
